Norman Lee Campbell, of La Porte passed on Saturday October 27, 2012 at home at the age of 85. He was born on July 16, 1927 in Jay County, IN to Irvin & Lilly (Hiestand) Campbell. He married Eloise E. Keirn, his bride of 63 years on June 29, 1949 in Fort Wayne, IN; she survives.
He is also survived by, three children Robert (Kris) Campbell of Buena Vista, CO, Charles (Ruth) Campbell of La Porte, and Gary (April) Campbell of Glendale, AZ; seven grandchildren, Shari Lee Campbell, Brandon Lee (Krista) Campbell, Brock Campbell, Ashley Campbell, Michelle Campbell, Kate Dolan, and JD Crumpton; one great grandson; six siblings, Mildred Brubaker, Bea Wolfe, Harley Campbell, Jean Parish, Joann Stein, and Kay Gardner
He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Orla Campbell, Robert Campbell, Harold Campbell, and Margorie Crowell.
Norman graduated from Bryant High School in Bryant, IN and served his country honorably in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a golden glove boxer in the Navy. Norman was a self-employed general contractor for over 60 years. He loved to fish and hunt. He was also an Arizona Diamondback & Denver Broncos fan. He and his wife moved to La Porte, IN in 2010 after living in Youngtown, AZ for 31 years.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Cutler Funeral Home & Cremation Center on Friday November 2, 2012 at 7PM with Pastor Roger Ash officiating.
Family and friends will be received from 5-7 Prior to the service on Friday.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association.
