Norman "Stormin' Norman" Dreibelbis, 82, of La Porte, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2015 at his home.
Norman was born in North Liberty, IN, on April 19, 1933 to Charles and Lura (Sultenright) Dreibelbis.
On October 3, 1970, he married Mary (Wisler) Dreibelbis who survives. Also surviving are his beloved children, Ronald Dreibelbis of Michigan City, IN, Keith Dreibelbis of La Porte, IN, Charles (Vicky) Dreibelbis of Rochester, IN, Joe (Dolly) Dreibelbis and Brian (Judi) Dreibelbis, both of Bourbon, IN, Debi (David Woods) Howard of Argos, IN, and Rebecca (Kent) Thornburg of CO; as well as numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Greg; three sisters and three brothers.
Norman was a United States Army Veteran and retired in 1990 as a general foreman for the City of La Porte Street Department. Norman enjoyed grilling, gardening and tending his fish pond. He especially loved raising his family.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 7 pm on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Roger Ash officiating. A cremation committal will take place following the service with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
A time of visitation will be held from 3 - 7 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home beginning with the presentation of Full Military Honors by the La Porte Honor Guard at 3 pm.
