Opal M. Weaver, 94 years old of La Porte, IN, died Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at IU Health La Porte Hospital.
She was born July 31, 1917 in Crumstown, IN, daughter of Ray and Zoa (Burch) Brown.
She was a member of Door Village Methodist Church.
She was the head cook for La Porte High School for many years.
Surviving are a daughter, Nancy Weaver of La Porte; a sister, Janet Morris of North Liberty; a nephew, Dale Brown of Crumstown, IN; nieces, Jane and Kaitlin Boss of Wyoming, MI; and special friends, Renee Ritchie-Gazarkiewicz and Mary Morgan of LaPorte.
She was married Sept. 6, 1941 in La Porte to Welser Weaver, Jr. who preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 1990. Also preceding her in death was a daughter, Sharon Marie Weaver and a brother, Earl Brown.
Services will be held at 2PM Friday, November 4, at Door Village Methodist Church with Rev. Billy Nickrand officiating.
Friends will be received Friday from noon until the time of the service at Door Village Methodist Church, LaPorte, IN . Services have been entrusted to Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Interment will follow at a later date in the Pine Lake Cemetery.
