Pamela Sue Schwinkendorf, 61, of La Porte, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at her home.
Pamela was born in La Porte, IN, on January 18, 1955 to Willard Dean and Alice Jeanne (Harold) Huston.
On May 28, 1977 in La Porte, she married Mark Schwinkendorf who survives. Also surviving are her beloved children, Ryan (Sarah) Schwinkendorf of Michigan City, Peter Schwinkendorf of La Porte, Lucas (Amber Klapp) Schwinkendorf of La Porte; brother, Michael Huston; sister, Julie (Marc) Spencer; brother-in-law, Chris Case; several nieces, nephews, and many friends. Pamela was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Kathy Case.
Pamela had a lifelong love for arts and crafts, and jewelry making. She was very active in the Neighborhood Watch, P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization), V.B.S. coordinator, and Cancer Patient Advocate. Pam worked as a special needs assistant at Kingsbury Elementary School, and taught at Step Ahead Pre School in La Porte. She enjoyed working in Child Care at the church, and babysitting, especially for Lily and Faith Spain.
A cremation committal has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 7 PM on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Agape Christian Church with Rev. Rodney Nielson and Rev. Eddie Heavner officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 4 PM until the time of the service on Tuesday at the church.
