Paul Dwight Wolfe, 93 years old of LaPorte, IN, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday morning, Sept. 22, 2010 in Golden Living Center in La Porte
He was born August 5, 1917 in Marshall County, Indiana, son of the late Harley Wolfe and Ethel (Sirk) Wolfe.
He was a member of Church of the Brethren. He was a life Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and was custodian of the church. He was a Red Coat Volunteer at LaPorte Hospital and Meals on Wheels driver.
He retired from Hailmann Elementary School.
He married Nov. 24, 1940 in La Porte to Sarah Betz who preceded him in death Feb. 27, 2007.
Surviving are 2 sons Samuel (Christine) Wolfe of South Bend., David (Doris) Wolfe of LaPorte, a daughter; Rachel Anderson of LaPorte, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, and a sister, Bonnie Wierich of New Carlisle, daughter in law, Trudi Wolfe (wife of James Wolfe) of Fairland, IN.
He was preceded in death by his wife, 2 sons; Daniel, & James Wolfe, sister; Bernice Vermilyer, and brother; Calvin Wolfe.
Friends will be received at the Cutler Funeral Home, LaPorte 4-7 PM Friday, September 24, 2010 and 11-noon on Saturday.
Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010 at Noon at Cutler Funeral Home, with Rev. Everett Shattuck officiating.
Interment will follow in the Patton Cemetery .
