Pearl Bernice Scherer, 96 years old of La Porte, IN, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Brentwood Assisted Living.
She was born January 20, 1915 in LaPorte, Indiana, Daughter of the late Christopher and Elsie (Bortz) Draves.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and a member of Circle 4.
On May 29, 1936, she married Wilbur L. Scherer, who preceded her in death on December 18, 1989.
Surviving are one son, Ronald Scherer, of LaPorte; three grandsons, Terry , Greg and Jeff all of LaPorte; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jeanette Vail, of LaPorte.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Howard Draves; one sister, Florence Swing and one grandson.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 7, 2011 with Rev. Ronald Brauer officiating. There will be a time of Visitation on Friday, May 6, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and also on Saturday from 10-11 A.M. at Cutler Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, LaPorte.
