Peter "Pete" James Costello, 82, of La Porte, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at his home.
Peter was born in Charleston, WV, on July 26, 1935 and adopted by Peter and Mary (Borner) Costello.
On May 26, 1954 in Chicago, IL, he married Shirley Stombaugh who survives. Also surviving are his beloved children, Peter (Debra) Costello of Michigan City, Thomas (Darlene) Costello of La Porte, Patricia Walters of La Porte, Kimberly (Randy) Bowser of La Porte, Jamie (Glen) LeCount of Roland, IA, and Timothy (Jennifer) Costello of Avon; daughter-in-law, Laura Costello; as well as many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Steven Costello.
Pete retired with 21 years of service from McGills Manufacturing in Valparaiso. He was a member of the Beechwood Senior Golf League. Pete enjoyed woodworking, painting, golf, and watching the Cubs. He especially loved his big family.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM (CST) on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with family friend, Dave Perry officiating.
A time of visitation will be held from 2-6 PM (CST) on Sunday, January 14, 2018 and from 10 AM (CST) until the time of the service at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the services and interment will take place at a later date.
