Philip N. Favia, 85 years old of La Porte, IN, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009 in LaPorte Hospital .
He was born Thursday, May 3, 1923 in La Porte, Indiana, son of the late Nicholas Favia and the late Rose (Ditta) Favia.
Philip married Priscilla Eddy-Parker on February 7, 1981 in Michigan City who survives.
He was a US Navy Veteran of WW II, and a member of Moose Lodge of Michigan City, and Agape Christian Church La Porte. Philip loved Jellystone Campground.
He worked as a maintenance mechanic for Gateway Industries.
Surviving are his children; Kimberly (Larry) Russell of Michigan City, Mark Favia of Dayton, Nevada, John (Jeannie) Bennitt of La Porte, Deborah (Sam) Emmerson of Arlington, TX, Sheri Sager of Michigan City, Lisa McGinnis of New Buffalo, Doriann (Dave) Wiegand of Michigan City, and Trisha Neff of Brookston, IN, Douglas (Laura) McGinnis of Hoopston, IL, Stuart (Rhonda) Parker of Lafayette, IN, and Philip Favia, Jr. of Florida, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, one sister; Rose Santow of La Porte, one brother; Ron Hartke of La Porte, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter; Sarah Banghart, sons; Ricky Favia and Douglas Parker, brother; Bill Hartke, sisters; Grace Favia and Francis Pearson, and one great-great-grandson.
Friends will be received Sunday, April 19, 2009, from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Cutler Funeral Home.
Services will be held Monday, April 20, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Agape Christian Church La Porte, with Rev. Rodney Nielsen officiating. There will be a time of visitation at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
Interment will follow in the Pine Lake Cemetery with full military honors.
