Philip Leo Paxson, 77 years old of La Porte, IN, died Tuesday, June 9, 2009 in his home.
He was born Sept. 3, 1931 in LaPorte, IN, Son of late Philip J. Paxson and Helen (Dadlow) Paxson
Philip was married on March 18, 1955 in Columbus, OH. to Eva R. Starkey who survives.
He was a 47 year member of Excelsior Lodge #41 F & A.M., former member of the Sheriff's Posse, Scottish Rite, 32nd Degree Mason, Staff SGT for the US Air Force from 1952-1956. Philip was a salesman for the automobile industry, Bonnie Baking, and Environmental Safety Products.
Surviving are his wife; Eva R. Paxson, daughter; Vicki (Kevin) Monroe of Holland, MI, son; Philip M. Paxson of LaPorte, IN., son; Brian E. Paxson of Kalamazoo, MI., daughter; Nicki (Michael) Madden of LaPorte, IN., daughter; Starr (Dan) Weis of Escondido, CA, grandchildren; Todd McFerron, Sean (Sarah) McFerron, Natasha (Jason) Walters, Philip Paxson, Mason Paxson, Brandon Madden and Taylor Paxson, great-grandchildren; Kaitlynn and Kaden Walters.
He was preceded in death by his brother; LeRoy J. Paxson.
Friends will be received Friday, June 12, 2009 from 4-7 P.M. at the Cutler Funeral Home, with a memorial service at 7:00 P.M. with Rev. Dee Miller officiating. A Masonic Memorial service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Friday at the Funeral Home, with a flag presentation to follow by the LaPorte Honor Guard.
