Phyllis E. (Shortt) Comeno, age 83, of Hamlet, Indiana and formerly of La Porte, Indiana, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2016 at home.
She was born in Somerset County, Pennsylvania on January 30, 1933, to Leo and Goldie (Ringler) Shortt.
Surviving are her beloved sons, Garry Comeno of Plymouth, Indiana, Dennis Comeno of Plymouth, Indiana, and Thomas Comeno of Walkerton, Indiana; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Lohr of Elkhart, Indiana and Maxine Manges of Rolling Prairie, Indiana; along with a brother, David (Ruth) Shortt of Plymouth, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both her husbands, Charles A. Comeno in 1981 and Joseph Comeno in 1993; along with three brothers, Joseph Shortt, Gerad Shortt and Larry Shortt.
Phyllis was a dedicated homemaker and loved to spend time with her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling the country and going to garage sales.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Interment will follow at Rolling Prairie Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home on Tuesday.
