Phyllis M. Horn, of La Porte, Ind. passed away at her home on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013 at the age of 84. She was born on July 2, 1929 the daughter of George E. and Oma (Lynch) Miller in Linton, Ind. On Jan. 20, 1949 she married Kermit A. Horn, he preceded her in death on Oct. 29, 2005.
She is survived by two daughters, Dale (Jim) Lehner of Battle Creek, Mich. and Darlene (Tom) Costello of La Porte, Ind.; three grandchildren, Amanda (Joel) Trumble of La Porte, Ind., Luke Lehner and Lori (Rob Wilkinson) Lehner both of Grand Rapids, Mich.; two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Madison Trumble of La Porte; one brother, Gene (Peggy) Miller of Mishawaka, Ind.; one brother-in-law Ret. Colonel Willard V. Horne of Albuquerque, N.M.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit; one daughter, Lori Ann Horn; ten siblings, and her parents.
Phyllis was a very special lady that deeply loved being with her family and dear friends. She had spent many years raising her beloved girls and supporting her husband Kermit in his career. She also worked for 24 years at Majerek's Hallmark in La Porte. She attended First Baptist Church and enjoyed puzzles, cards, and making her famous Christmas candy.
A cremation committal will take place with Cutler Funeral Home & Cremation Center with a private family burial to take place at Pine Lake Cemetery in La Porte. Pastor Roger Ash will officiate.
