Phyllis Irene Lasky

Phyllis Irene Lasky, 83 , of La Porte, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at her home surrounded by her husband and family.

Phyllis was born in La Porte, IN, on April 5, 1935 to Alton Guy "Pete" and Olive Vernice (Emigh) Hunt.

On December 27, 1974 in La Porte, IN, she married George Lasky who survives her in La Porte.  Also surviving are her beloved children, Sheryl (Ricky) Turner of Nenana, AK, Teri (Rick) Strieter of Rolling Prairie, Su (Douglas) Glesner of La Porte, Toni (Fred Moryl) Lenard of La Porte, Richard "Rick" Wright of La Porte, Dale (Karen) Wright of Orlando, FL, Robbie (Cindy) Lasky of Jacksonville, FL, Scott Lasky of TX, and Shauna (Jack) Sandig of TX; 21 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and 1 great, great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John Richard "Pete Jr." Hunt.

Phyllis worked as head cashier at Kroger for 15 years and 20 years for La Porte County as the Chief Deputy for the Assessor and Treasurers offices. She was a member of the Women's Republican Club, V.F.W., and La Porte Little Theatre.  She enjoyed reading, taking cruises and Beanie Baby collecting. Phyllis loved sports, especially the Chicago Cubs.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM (CT) on Friday, March 15, 2019 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center in La Porte, IN with Pastor Jack Balon officiating.

A time of visitation will be held from 4 - 7 PM (CT) on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 10 AM (CT) until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.  Cremation will take place following the service.
