Phyllis Rose Prokop, 86, of LaPorte, IN, died at 5:18 p.m. Friday, August 27, 2004 at LaPorte Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2004 at the Cutler Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Hadley officiating. Visitation is from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday. Burial is in the Pine Lake Cemetery.
Mrs. Prokop was born June 17, 1918, in Hanna, Indiana to Emil B. and Fannye (Hiigli) Wiesjahn. On October 22, 1939, in LaPorte, she married Frank K. Prokop, who died November 25, 1987.
Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Richardson, Barrington, IL; grandchildren, Shannon Blue, Tyler Richardson and Dane Richardson; great-grandson, Adam Blue; brother, Emil B. ?Jack? (Louise) Wiesjahn, Jr., Sarasota, FL; three nieces and numerous cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She had worked for 10 years as a bookkeeper for the Thanhardt-Burger Corporation in LaPorte. She then became a homemaker. She had graduated from the Union Mills High School, but had lived in LaPorte for most of her life.
She was a member of the LaPorte First United Methodist Church, where memorials may be given. Memorials may also be given to the charity of the donor?s choice.
