Bruce S. Roberts, 78 years old of La Porte, Indiana, died Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at La Porte Hospital
He was born Mar. 9, 1931 in Gary, Indiana , Son of the late Paul C. & Maude (Warren) Roberts.
Bruce was a US Army Veteran serving from 1951-1953, a member of American Legion Post #83 and V.F.W. Post #1130 both of La Porte. He attended Gary Tolleston High School. Bruce was an avid golfer, enjoyed bicycling, and loved being with his family.
He worked for, Dixie Dairy and Taylor-Forge both of Gary, Allis Chalmers and US Postal Service retiring in 1994.
Bruce was married October 3, 1981 in La Porte to Marcia A. Sharp who survives. Also surviving are 3 daughters; Shelley (Jeff) Campbell of Valparaiso, IN. Marcy (Jim) O'Kelley of Osage Beach, MO., Dawn (Rod) Story of Michigan City and 1 Son; Bruce P.(Carie) Roberts of La Porte, 8 Grandchildren; Ryan & Brandon Campbell, Cecelia, Camillia, & Sabrina Story, Jessica, Bryce, & Brendan Roberts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 Sisters; Pauline and Dorothy, 2 Brothers; Buddy and Paul
Friends will be received at the at the Cutler Funeral Home from 2-6:00 PM Friday Sept. 25th with a Memorial Service at 5:00 PM, Military Rites will follow the Service by La Porte Honor Guard
