Randolph “Randy” Alex Spurr, age 63, of La Porte, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 surrounded by his loved ones.

Randy was born on October 28, 1951 to Alexander and Elsie (Abraham) Spurr in LaPorte, IN.

He is survived by his beloved mother, Elsie Spurr of LaPorte; fiancé, Sharon Kay Bauer of LaPorte, daughters, Amber Spurr of LaPorte and Carrie Spurr of Australia; brother, Michael (Sandra) Spurr of LaPorte; sister, Cynthia (Frank) Shuman of Orange, TX; grandson, Milo Randolph Spurr of LaPorte; nieces, Dr. Melissa (Dan) Spurr Lah of Indianapolis, Jaclyn Shuman of New York, NY; nephews, Nathan Spurr of Indianapolis, Dr. Frank (Natalie) Shuman of Houston, TX, Jason (Shelley) Shuman of Austin, TX and many other loving family members and friends.

Randy was preceded in death by his wife Bonita on May 20, 1999 and father Alexander on December 20, 2007.

Randy graduated from LaPorte High School in 1970 and worked for Allis Chalmers for over ten years. He also worked faithfully for Sullair in Michigan City, IN for over 28 years. Randy enjoyed using his talents working on cars and anything mechanical. He would always stop whatever he was doing to make time for others. Regardless of the need or what was broken Randy was always there to fix it for his family and friends. He loved collecting remote control cars, andThomas the Train items. Randy also loved to travel all across the Midwest with Sharon to Thomas The Train shows where children of all ages enjoy themselves. Above all Randy loved spending time with his family, especially his grandson. He will always be loved, missed, and remembered well.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 am, on Monday, January 19, 2015, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte, IN with Pastor Gene Flickinger officiating.

A time of visitation will be held from 2 to 6 pm on Sunday, January 14, 2015 and from 10 am until the time of service at the funeral home on Monday. Burial will take place at Pine Lake Cemetery.
