Randy Barr, 48 years old of LaPorte, Indiana , died Tuesday, August 25, 2009 in LaPorte Hospital .
He was born June 25, 1961 in La Porte, to Robert Martin Barr and Carolyn Jane (Whitcomb) Barr.
Surviving are his mother, Carolyn Jane Barr of LaPorte, IN., brothers; Harold L. (Susan), Martin (Marsha) & Ralph (Diane) Barr all of LaPorte, IN., and nieces and nephews; Tonya (Edward) Treble, Evan, Erin, Jane, Bennett, and Kelly Barr, best friends; Steve Gazdick, Bill Phelan, and Dick King. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert M. Barr
Randy graduated from La Porte High School in 1981 where he was student basketball manager. He attended Purdue University agriculture short courses. Randy worked with Barr Farms all his life and had a hay and cattle business. He was a member of 4-H for 10 years, the La Porte County Row Crop Growers Association, a past president of La Porte Jaycees where he served in many areas, Phi Delts, Westville Lions Club, and the La Porte County Antique Tractor Association. Randy was a godfather to Kelly Barr. He loved people and everyone loved him. Randy also really enjoyed his coffee!
Services will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Cutler Funeral Home. There will be a time of visitation from 4-8:00 P.M. Friday, August 28, 2009 at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in the Pine Lake Cemetery.
