Ray Keller, 96, of LaPorte, Indiana, died at 2:50 a.m. on Friday, March 24, 2006 at Fountainview Terrace Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, at Cutler Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Henry officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Patton Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted.
Ray was born September 26, 1909 in Corydon, IN to Daniel and Gertrude (Byerly) Keller. On August 16, 1931, in LaPorte, he married Anna Louise Hahn who preceded him in death March 4, 1988.
Survivors include daughters Darla Eiler of Florence, SC and Connie (Mike) Boss of Lafayette, IN; sons Robert (Dolores) Keller of LaPorte and Derel (Gretchen) Keller of Horsham, PA; grandchildren Brad (Pam) Keller, Marcia (Robert) Vaughn, Todd (Ann) Keller, Paul Keller, Kimberly (Greg) Burke, William (Carol) Keller, Richard (Marna) Keller, Greg (Marie) Eiler, Eric (Danielle) Eiler, Gwen Eiler, Brian (Laurie) Boss, Nikki Boss, Chad Boss and Kari Boss; 29 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother Howard (Lou) Keller of Michigan City, IN; and sisters Alliene Renz of Rolling Prairie, IN, Dorothy (Hubert) Hope of Sherrills Ford, NC, Marguerite Kellogg of Houston, TX and Barbara (Gerald) Ratliff of Rolling Prairie, IN.
Sisters Aletha Shipton and Helen Lewallen and brothers Hershel, Omer, Leon and Gerald Keller preceded him in death.
Ray had been a foreman at Fox Woolen Mills and was co-owner of Fabribeam until his retirement. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, the VFW and AARP. He was also a US Army veteran of WW II.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ, St. John's Lutheran Church or to the charity of the donor's choice.
