Retha M. Mattox, 70, of Kingsford Heights, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2019 at La Porte Hospital.
Retha was born in Sullivan, IN, on July 20, 1948 to Kenneth and Blanche P. (Dayton) Corey.
On June 6, 1971, she married Joe Mattox who survives. Also surviving are her beloved daughter, Lesa (Wojtek Kochan) Anthony of Kingsford Heights; sisters, Beverly (Stephen) Hand of Kingsford Heights and Kathy (Steven) King of La Porte; brother, Darrell (Sharon) Corey of Kingsford Heights; as well as numerous beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Danny Corey; and great niece, MaKenna.
Retha was a factory worker for 34 years at American Rubber. She was a member of Lighthouse Assembly of God since 1970. Retha enjoyed the Yankees and loved singing in church. She was known as a "long distance Yankees coach".
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Lighthouse Assembly of God with Pastors Jere Gowin and Doug Hawkins officiating.
A time of visitation will be held from 1 pm until the time of the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will take place at a later date.
