Rev. Jeffery C. Jones, 68 years old of LaPorte, IN., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at his home.
He was born on May 10, 1943 in East Chicago, IN., son of the late John B. and Suzhana (Holland) Jones.
He was married on September 18, 1972 in Bartow, FL., to Dorothy M. Jones (Anders).
Jeffery was a retired Pastor for the United Methodist Church. He graduated from OP Morton High School in Hammond, IN., He received his B.S. in Social Service from Troy State University in Montgomery, AL, and his MDVI from Candler School of Theology at Emery University in Atlanta, GA.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Jones; his daughter, Jennifer (Eric John) Culp of Mishawaka, IN., granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Culp; sisters; Sue C. Jones of TN., June Williams of AZ., Norma Bordua of IN, and foster brother, Wesley Kennedy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Joyce Soreman and brothers, Gilbert and John B. Jones.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Door Village United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Brock, Pastor Billy Nickrand & Elder Eddy Scott officiating.
There will be a time of visitation on Friday, August 12, 2011 from 3:00 to7:30 P.M. at Cutler Funeral Home and on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at the Door Village United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the Door Village Cemetery.
