Richard Carriveau

Richard "Rick" Carriveau, Jr., age 56, of La Porte, passed away on April 9, 2014 at IU Health La Porte Hospital.

He was born in Gary, IN, on September 26, 1957 to Richard and Margaret (Burris) Carriveau, Sr., who survives.

On October 21, 1989 he married Dawn (Eskridge) Carriveau who survives. Also surviving are his beloved children, Nicholas Tuholski of La Porte, Jacob (Whitney) Carriveau of Dallas, TX., Kassie Heiner of Steamboat Springs, CO., Rachel Carriveau of La Porte, and Jonah Carriveau of La Porte; 4 grandchildren, Norman, Logan, Gabriel, Jordan; sisters, Marcie Shaul of Indianapolis, IN, Gail (Joe) Prather of Jeffersonville, IN, Debbie Carriveau, Pam (Fred) Morrow of New Castle, IN; and 9 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Cora Burris and Richard and Dora Carriveau.

Rick loved music, especially his Bass Guitar. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. Rick was a volunteer fire fighter with the Pleasant Township Fire Department, He also volunteered with FEMA and HAZMAT for Hurricane Katrina. He attended State Street Community Church and will be missed by many.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 AM on Monday, April 14, 2014 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Nate Loucks officiating. Burial will follow at Pinhook Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held from 2-6 PM on Sunday, April 13, 2014 and also from 9 am until the time of the service on Monday at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
