Richard Kolasa, 68, of LaPorte, Indiana, died at 8:50 a.m. on Thursday, August 17, 2006 at his home.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 21, at Cutler Funeral Home with Rev. Ted Nordquist officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Cremation will take place and burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 22.
Richard was born March 3, 1938, in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Mary (Kubaszczyk) and Anthony Kolasa. On June 27, 1964, he married Barbara Hough, who survives.
Also surviving are sons Richard Kolasa, Jr. and Mark (Val) Kolasa of LaPorte; grandchildren Tony, Kara, Jessica and Kasey of LaPorte; and several nieces and nephews.
A sister, Rita Sachman, preceded him in death.
Richard was a steel worker, retiring from Bethlehem Steel. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He also served in the US Air Force from 1956-1963 serving as a clerk sergeant and he was enjoying life with his family.
