Richard "Dick" Meyers, 64, a life-long resident of Hesston, Indiana, passed away on Friday June 17, 2016 in Auburn, Indiana after an extended illness.
Dick was born on July 13, 1951 in South Bend to Lee and Erma (Zebell) Meyers. He was a 1969 graduate of New Prairie High School and was self-employed. He enjoyed fishing and stock car racing. Highlights of his life include several appearances on the Hoosier Millionaire television show and the trip to Jamaica which was one of his prizes.
Surviving are his mother, Erma Meyers of La Porte; sisters, Sandra (Warren) Ransom and Donna (David) Nelson, both of La Porte; nephew, Chris (Nikki McFay) Ransom, Aaron (Mandy Caparelli) Nelson and Tim Nelson. He was preceded by his father; sister, Barbara Jean Meyers; and nephew, Eric Ransom.
Friends may call at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center from 10 - 11 am on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, followed by a celebration of life service at 11 am officiated by cousin, Rev. William Zebell of Niles, Michigan. Burial will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Three Oaks, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be directed to the Kankakee Township Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 214, Rolling Prairie, IN 46371 or to the donor's choice.
