Robert Cooke 92, died early Wednesday AM at Fountain View in La Porte, Indiana. He is survived by his sister, Dr. Almarose (Cooke) Worden of Rose Hill, South Carolina; and Brother Dr. Weldon Cooke of Michigan City, Indiana.
Also among his survivors are four nephews, Dr. John Cooke of Sanford, Florida; Dr. James Cooke of Atlanta, Georgia; Dr. Dave Cooke of Berrien Springs, Michigan; and Dr. Dan Cooke of South Bend, Indiana; as well as 14 grand nephews and nieces and one great grandniece. Four of these are Dr. Sarah (Cooke) Friend of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Dr. Andrew Cooke of Dallas, Texas; Dr. Matt Cooke of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and Dr. Steve Cooke of Daytona Beach, Florida. Several of the others are in medical school or pre-med. One-year-old Brooklyn (Cooke) Friend of Albuquerque, New Mexico has not yet decided what she wants to be.
There is no funeral planned at this time, but a memorial service will be held in the spring at the grave sites of his Mother and Father, Dr. and Mrs. Robert Locke Cooke in Wheaton, Illinois. Dr. Cooke senior was author and full professor at Wheaton College for 20 years.
