Robert Lee Francis, Jr., 56, of La Porte, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2017 at his home.
Robert was born in La Porte, IN, on February 19, 1960 to Robert Lee and Pauline Joan (Monroe) Francis.
On December 21, 2015, he married Barbara Maxson who survives in La Porte. Also surviving are his step-daughter, Sara Allmond of Mississippi; brothers and sisters, Charlie (Margie) Francis of Georgia, Nick (Cheri) Francis of Niles, MI, Lyle (Jennifer) Francis of La Porte, and George Francis of La Porte; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Robert served honorably in the US Army. He was a member of the Foreign Legion. Robert was involved in Viking reenactment and he loved playing cards.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2 pm Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Bethel Chapel, 2805 N. State Rd. 39, La Porte, IN.
