Bob Heise, 83, of LaPorte, Indiana, died at 5:12 a.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at LaPorte Hospital.
A private family service was held. There was no visitation. Arrangements were handled by Cutler Funeral Home.
Bob was born January 2, 1922 in LaPorte to Gerald & Ethel (Salzer) Heise. On October 3, 1943, in LaPorte, he married Evelyn Wolford, who preceded him in death September 11, 2003.
Survivors include daughter, Carol (Charles) Wright of Michigan City; son Brian (Patricia Heise) of Palatine, IL; grandchildren Adam Bluhm, Courtney & Christopher Wright and Amanda & Alison Heise; 6 great-grandchildren; brother Richard (Dorothy) Heise; and 6 nieces and nephews.
His parents, a sister, Joanne Mercier and a grandson, Matthew Bluhm, preceded him in death.
Bob worked in LaPorte all his life in various positions, but he will be best remembered as a barber and the one-time owner of both the J Street and Rumley Barber Shops. During the summer months, he could be found on the links of the Beechwood Golf Course, where he continued to search for the perfect club and swing.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
