Robert Jeffery Stover, 49, LaPorte, died at 6 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 21, 2004) at his home.
A private family service is today at Cutler Funeral Home, LaPorte.
He was born June 22, 1954, in LaPorte to Samuel and Pauline (Brooks) Stover. His mother survives in LaPorte. His father preceded him in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Michelle Shelton, Oliver Springs, Tenn.; one son, Matthew (Melissa) Stover, Troy, Ohio; three grandchildren, Dillon Shelton and Emily and Alex Stover; two sisters, Margaret Walls, Coalfield, Tenn., and Doris Cox, LaPorte; one brother, John Stover, LaPorte; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Jerry; one sister, Martha Reed; one son, Robert Jeffery Stover Jr.; and a step-father, Raymond Willoughby.
Mr. Stover worked in the construction industry and was an auto mechanic. He spent the last few years staying home to care for his mother.
