Robyn Alicia Ortt, age 42, of LaPorte, lost her battle against leukemia early afternoon on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at University of Chicago Medicine, Chicago, IL. She was born on October 10, 1970 in Peru, Indiana, to Clark and Louise (Gore) Bootz. On May 5, 2007, in LaPorte she married Joseph Ortt.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph of LaPorte; children, Heather and Amanda Bell of LaPorte, Cristian Ortt of Portage, IN, Jasmine and Summer Ortt of Valparaiso, IN; parents, Clark and Louise Bootz of LaPorte; grandson, Ethan Ortt; sister, Karen (Mark) Martin; niece, McKenna Martin of LaPorte.
She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents.
Robyn was dedicated to her job at LaPorte Hospital. She started as a security officer there over 14 years ago. She loved her job and worked so hard in order to get her Associate and Bachelor Degrees from Indiana Wesleyan University while working as the Director of Security, Switchboard and Emergency Management at I.U. Health LaPorte Hospital. When she wasn't working, she truly loved being with her family and loving husband. She especially loved it when she became a Granny.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM Friday, January 11, 2013 at the Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, LaPorte, with Rev. Steven Laue, officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery in La Porte.
Friends and family will be received at the Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center on Thursday, January 10 from 4-8 PM and on Friday from 10 AM until the hour of service.
