Roger Patrick Martin, 63, of La Porte, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2017 at Golden Living Center.
Roger was born in Green River, New Brunswick, Canada, on January 23, 1954 to Hermas and Jacqeline (Dumond) Martin.
Surviving are his wife, Trish Martin; his beloved son, Eric P. (Shannon) Martin of La Porte; 3 granddaughters, Cheyenne, Amanda and Aabee; 1 great-granddaughter, Nayvi; brother, Marc (Cheryl) Martin of Maine; sister, Gloria Davenport of Maine; many nieces and nephews; as well as other loving family members.
He was preceded in death by his mother and siblings, Herman Martin, Kathy Vaughn and Alice Raber.
Roger was an United States Marine Corps veteran. He worked as a lumberjack. He enjoyed nature, loved westerns and civil war history, and wood working. Roger never met a stranger.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 5 PM (CST) on Monday, July 31, 2017 with full military honors at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
A time of visitation will be held from 3 - 5 PM (CST) on Monday at the funeral home.
