On September 11, 2016, an inherited family condition took Rok Knoll after only 27 years. He passed peacefully at his home with his dog, Luna, by his side.
Rok was born in La Porte, IN, on January 31, 1989, to Rick and Kitty (Murray) Knoll.
Surviving are his parents; 3 sisters, Erin of Anchorage, AK, Torey of Jackson, WY, and Elisse of Rolling Prairie; grandmothers, Bebejean Knoll of La Porte and Ruth Ellen Murray of Ocala, FL; Aunt Linda (Knoll); 2 uncles, Bud Murray of Ocala, FL, and James Murray of Kansas City, KS; as well as cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Richard O. Knoll and Len L. Murray; and uncle, Peter Murray.
Rok was a 4th generation general contractor working alongside his father. He had a passion for designing and creating art thru welding, drawing, furniture making, and electronics. He enjoyed skateboarding, skiing, skim boarding, fishing and the great outdoors.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held about 6:30 PM on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Rev. Sally Wicks officiating. A cremation committal will take place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center at a later date.
A time of visitation will be held from 4 - 6:30 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the La Porte County Animal Shelter, 2855 W. State Road 2, La Porte, IN 46350 in honor of Rok. His grandfather, Richard O. Knoll, was instrumental in founding the shelter.
