Ronald "Ron" Beaver, age 75, Vietnam War Army Veteran USMP, passed away with family by his side at Hines Veterans Hospital in Illinois on September 2, 2017 after complications and an extended physical rehab stay.

Ron was born in Otis, IN, on November 10, 1941 to George F. and Bernadette M. (Schiele) Beaver. He was a lifelong resident of La Porte, IN. His only other residence was while stationed in San Francisco at the Presidio as a US Military Police Officer during the Vietnam War.

Ron married his sweetheart, Carol Ann Yasko on November 17, 1962. They had two children, Rachelle and Ronald II "Ronnie". They divorced in 1984 but remained close until the end of his days.

After his military service, Ron worked for Allis Chalmers company in La Porte until their closing and continued work as a carpenter.

Ron was a soft spoken and kind man. He had a love of good food, good conversation, and great friends and family. Ron had a fondness of classic cars, cowboy boots and hats, westerns and collectible firearms. He shared these interests with a great many friends. He always liked to share his experiences and was proud of his time in the Army and of his hometown. He also loved his time with his daughter, her family and shared his times spent with his son and their adventures. He was also close to many friends and their families, an extended family to some.

Ron is survived by his daughter, Rachelle (Joe) Frosch; grandsons, Jonah, Jacob, Eric and Owen Frosch of Plainfield, IL; ex-spouse, Carol (Richard) Rudolph of La Porte; sister, Bonnie (Walt) Faulstich of La Porte; brother, William "Bill" Hopkins of Minneapolis, MN; and several nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents; Bernadette Catlin and George F. Beaver; son, Ronald "Ronnie" F. Beaver, II; step-father, Vernon Catlin; brother, George Beaver of MI; sister, Barbara Griffin; and some nieces and nephews.

A military graveside service will be held Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 1:00 PM (CST) at Patton Cemetery, 1401 Rumely Street, La Porte, IN 46350.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Edward Hines Jr., VA Hospital, Voluntary Service (135), 5000 South 5th Avenue, Hines, IL 60141.
