Roy Bennett, 63, of LaPorte, Indiana, died at 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2005, at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, at Cutler Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place and burial will take place at a later time.
Roy was born July 22, 1941, in Martinsville, Illinois to Mervin & Lula (Bush) Bennett.
Survivors include a daughter, Lee Ann Giggy of LaPorte; son, Joseph Roy Bennett of Nitro, WV; grandsons Corbin and Hunter Bennett and one on the way: granddaughter Marrissa Giggy; sisters, Cicile Stephens, Lilly Ann Remlinger and Susan Hills; and brother Harry Bennett.
His parents, brothers Leo, Danny, Evertt & Bill Bennett and sisters Ruby Della Cooley and Grace Bennett preceded him in death.
Roy had worked for the Indiana State Highway for 25 years. He was also a former Kingsbury Volunteer Fireman. He loved fishing and hunting, but he most especially loved his grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
