Roy Allen "Al" Langman, 84 years old of LaPorte, IN, passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Whispering Pine Medical Center in Valparaiso, IN.
He was born on August 31, 1928 in LaPorte, IN, son of the late George and Maureen (Hupp) Langman.
Roy was married on April 28, 1965 in LaPorte to June M. Renfro.
He was a retired Millwright with Local 1043, Hobart, IN, a member of the Senior Bowling League, American Legion Post #83, and was a US Navy Veteran serving in the Korean War. Roy was an avid camper, enjoying the years camping at Pla-Mor Park in Bremen, IN and the Chicago Bulls #1 fan.
Surviving are his wife, June M. Langman; sons, George (Ann) Langman, John Langman both of Akron, OH, Donald (Carrie) Langman of LaPorte; daughters, Kimberly (Ron) McCoy of LaPorte, Linda (Jeff) Dove of Fish Lake; 9 grandchildren, Angela Selden, Kathleen Langman, Leslie Toth, Dana White, Taila Langman, Donovan Langman, Dustin McCoy, Jordan McCoy, Brandon Dove; 6 great grandchildren; his dog, Bear; brother, Robert Langman of Georgia; step-sister, Virginia Casper of Denver, CO; half-brother, Dwayne Fritz, Kernville, CA; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Alice Batsel, Mary Forrester; Brother, Theodore Langman; step-mother, Mae Langman; and daughter Pam.
A time of visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 and from 11 AM until the time of service on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, with Larry Pinkerton officiating. Interment will follow in the Patton Cemetery with Full Military Honors Presented by the LaPorte Honor Guard.
