Roy E. Scott, 78, of LaPorte, IN, died at 8:40 p.m., Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at LaPorte Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 17, 2004 at the Cutler Funeral Home with Rev. Ronald Brauer officiating. Visitation is from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Burial is in the Pine Lake Cemetery where full military rites will be conducted.
Roy was born April 19, 1926 in Champaign, IL to Percy L. & Elsie L. (Fisher) Scott. On June 5, 1949, in LaPorte, he married Lois Keel, who survives.
Also surviving are daughters Nancy Gibson, LaPorte, IN and Cindy (Dennis) Radke, Michigan City, IN; son Tom (Nancy) Scott, LaPorte, IN; granddaughters Heather & Kayla Radke; and brothers Wayne D. Scott, Wilmington, NC and Lawrence ?Bud? Scott, Michigan City, IN.
Preceding him in death was infant son, Terry L. Scott, brothers Floyd Scott & Percy Scott Jr. and sisters Ruth Schroeter, Margaret Allen, Mildred Scott and Mary Lois Cook.
Roy had worked at Diamond Tool & Die and had retired from Teter Tool & Die after working there for 30 years. He retired in 1992.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He was a former member of both the LaPorte Yacht Club and Pine Lake Grange. He was also a WW II Army veteran, serving as a sergeant with the 7th Tank Destroyer Group.
Memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation, the American Diabetes Association, the Indianapolis VA Hospital or the charity of the donor's choice.
