Russell Duane Cowham, 78 years old of New Carlisle, IN, formerly of South Bend, IN. died Tuesday, July 13, 2010 in New Carlisle, IN.
He was born July 16, 1931 in Hudson Lake, Indiana Son of the late Milo A. and Bertha Helen (Keene) Cowham.
He was married on December 30, 1950 in LaPorte at First Baptist Church to Shirley Jean Lewis who survives. Also surviving are his sons, Daniel S. Cowham of New Carlisle, Alan D. Cowham of South Bend; daughter, Debra J. (Harry) Winslow of Lakeville, IN., sister, Beverly June Reasor of Indianapolis, IN., 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Russell worked as a painter for Al Cowham Contractors. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving from 1951 - 1955, a Boy Scout Leader, member of the Local #18 Bricklayer South Bend, American Legion of New Carlisle and enjoyed CB Radio.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, July 16, 2010 at Cutler Funeral Home from 4 to 7 P.M. (c.s.t.) and from 9 to 10 A.M. (c.s.t.) on Saturday, July 17, 2010.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, July 17. 2010 at 10 A.M. (c.s.t.) at Cutler Funeral Home, LaPorte, IN. with Ed Erskin officiating.
Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, LaPorte, IN.
