Russell William Kirsch, Sr., 87, of Walkerton, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2020 at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
Russell was born on January 14, 1933 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Robert and Mary (Wilson) Kirsch.
Surviving are his children, Russell (Rebecca) Kirsch, Jr. and Kristine (Keith) Ferguson, both of La Porte; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer Samm, Kayla (Adam) Banks, Jaime (Brent) Raymond, Loree (Ed) Pinkowski, and Kyle (Emily) Kirsch; 12 great-grandchildren, Cole, Gage, Reed, Emma, Kaylin, Ben, Carson, Troy, Drew, Trent, Parker, and Owen; stepson, Chuck Glen of La Porte; sister, June Needles of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Helen and Edith; great-grandson, Skyler; brother, Robert Kirsch; and sister, Marge Emhke.
Russell was a self-employed carpenter. When Melody Lanes "Casey Lanes" opened, Russell was the supervisor in charge of installing the pin setters and the bowling lanes. He was a member of the Eagles and the Elks. Russell enjoyed bowling and playing cards, but his real love was golfing.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
