With many family members and friends close by, and many more friends and family far away, SallyJo Berndt passed away with all of them in her heart at 12:36 A.M., Monday, March 19, 2012 at the age of 57.
She was born on January 6, 1955 in LaPorte, IN, daughter of Donald and Virginia (Hughes) Lane.
She was loved by many including her husband of 37 years, David Berndt and her daughters, Christina Lynn (The late Michael) Tracy of Michigan City, Melissa Berndt of LaPorte; 6 grandchildren, Jasmine Berndt, Alyssa Catherine Lee Tracy, Krystal (Mark) Wert, Jennifer Stephenson, Amber (Lel) Newlon, Jennifer (Josh) Meadows, ; 21 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, David (Phyllis) Lane of Kingsford Heights, Charles (Sandy) Lane of LaPorte, Don (Carla) Lane of Kingsford Heights, Allie (Flo) Lane of LaPorte, Charlie (Deanne) Lane of LaPorte, J.C. Lane of LaPorte, Donna (Rick) Lambert of Mesa, AZ, Virginia (Don) Henry of Oregon, Elta Lane LaPorte; brother and sister-in-laws, Tom & Mary Lou Berndt, Gary & Peggy Berndt, Mary Ann Sneed, many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Sally enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and spending time with her grandbabies. She had worked at American Rubber, Bruno Enterprises and K-Mart.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Cutler Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Rev. David Adams, Sr. officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 4:00PM until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
