Samuel "Sam" Clinton Potter, 54, of La Porte, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at La Porte Hospital.
Sam was born in Washington, IA, on February 8, 1963 to Orrin and Patricia (Spear) Potter who survive in Baldwin City, KS.
Also surviving are his beloved children, Mikhala Sheets of Winston Salem, NC, Madeline Potter of Indianapolis, India Potter of Indianapolis, and Zoë Potter of Indianapolis; sisters, Ann (Dave) Hiveley of Ankeny, IA, Lynn Potter of Gearhart, OR, and Jennifer Potter of St. Petersburg, FL; brother, Stephen (Susan) Potter of Portland, OR; best friend and mother of Sam's girls, Davelle DeMarco of La Porte; 2 aunts, Cindy Spear and Janice Craig; 2 uncles, Karl Spear, Jr. and Keith Potter; as well as 8 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his uncle, Theodore Potter.
Sam had a Masters Degree in Theatre. He loved his girls, film, screenwriting, acting, directing, and he was known as the best Dungeon Master in Dungeons and Dragons.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm (CST) on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Water's Edge United Methodist Church, 18732 Harbor Country Drive, New Buffalo, MI 49117 with Brad Bartlemay officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 2:00 pm (CST) until the time of service on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the church.
