Sandra Sandy Marie Leets, 39, LaPorte, died after a brief illness Wednesday (March 24, 2004) at Christ Hospital, Oak Lawn, Ill.
The memorial service will be at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Church of the Brethren in LaPorte, with Pastor Cindy Barnum-Steggeba officiating.
Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Cutler Funeral Home, LaPorte.
She was born Dec. 22, 1964, in LaPorte to Ed and Sue (Washburn) Hunsche. Her mother preceded her in death. On June 22, 1991, she married Scott Leets, who survives in LaPorte.
Survivors also include one son, Sean Leets, at home; one stepdaughter, Christine Leets, LaPorte; one stepson, Ben Campbell, LaPorte; two sisters, Cathy Groves, South Bend, and Cheryl Hunsche, Fort Wayne; one brother, Jimmy Hunsche, LaPorte; her half-sister, Janet Hunsche, Cincinnati; her father, Ed Hunsche, Marion, Ind.; her stepmother, Bonnie Hunsche, Lawrenceburg, Ind.; her stepfather, Jim Vlasos, LaPorte; and her foster parents, Dick and Jean Bauer, LaPorte.
One uncle, Don Hunsche, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Leets was a certified nursing assistant at Fountainview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren and was active with the Boy Scouts of America.
Memorial contributions may be made to Boy Scout Troop 880 of Bethany Lutheran Church or to the charity of the donor's choice.
