Sandra graduated with an associate's degree in supervision. She worked in human resources for various companies throughout her career. She was a U.S. Naval Veteran, a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, in which she was very active in a number of areas. She was also an active volunteer in many of the area Red Cross Chapters and Meals on Wheels.
