Sarah O'Reair, 79, of LaPorte, Indiana, died at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 29, 2006 at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 3, at Cutler Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Collings officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Patton Cemetery.
Soupie was born March 24, 1926, in Monette, Arkansas to the late Cromwell & Nanette (Medley) West. On September 13, 1971, in LaPorte, she married Robert H. O'Reair, who preceded her in death October 7, 1985.
Survivors include sisters Bobbie (Lee) Cole of Chesterton, IN, Martha Hindsley of Kingsbury, IN, June (Gene) Collings of Elyria, OH, and Iris (Richard) Tillinghast of LaPorte; 2 stepdaughters; 3 step-grandsons and 1 step-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by sisters Gladys Foster, Dorothy Bowen, Billie Moe, Myrtle Adams and Mary Fricke and brothers Walter "Bud" West and Junius West.
Soupie was a registered nurse and had worked as Assistant Director of Nursing at Mercy Hospital in Benton Harbro, MI and had also worked at St. Anthony's Hospital in Michigan City.
