Sharla Sue (Gillham) Bluhm

Sharla Sue Bluhm, 74, of La Porte, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at her home, surrounded by family.

Sharla was born on December 23, 1948 in La Porte, IN, to George and Dorothy (Brownlee) Gillham.

On September 24, 1966, she married Phillip L. Bluhm who preceded her in death on February 28, 2019.  Surviving Sharla are her beloved children, Diane (Mark) Stapleton of Mill Creek and Kevin (Amy K.) Bluhm of Stillwell; 6 grandchildren, Ashlee Bluhm of La Porte, Ryan (Rebecca) Dove of Mill Creek, Jessica (Angel) Sosa of Seymour, TN, Delaney Bluhm of South Saint Paul, MN, Stephen LaRosa of La Porte, and Michael LaRosa of La Porte; 5 great-grandchildren, Skilynn Scalf, Dillan Dove, Zack Myers-Dove, Braylynn Myers-Dove, and Mateo Sosa; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; great grandson, Corbin Dove; sister, Delores Flitter; and brother, Devon Gillham.

Sharla worked in the service dept. at Kabelin's for 32+ years. She was a past member of the Indiana Volunteer Fire Association Auxiliary.  Sharla enjoyed playing BINGO, bird watching, and volunteering with the Pleasant Twp. Fire Dept. Auxiliary.  She also enjoyed cats, deer, and most importantly, the time spent with her grandchildren and family.

For over 30 years, she was instrumental in providing rehab for the Pleasant Twp. Fire Dept.  Sharla enjoyed serving the dept., providing refreshments, and caring for the needs of those on scene.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Jeff Rose officiating.  Burial will follow at Kingsbury Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m.  on Friday, June 30, 2023 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
