Stanley E. Kreighbaum, 55 years old of Kingsford Heights, IN, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2011at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends.
He was born January 11, 1956 in Michigan City, Indiana, son of the late LeRoy Kreighbaum and Barbara (Meeks) Stifle.
Stanley worked for 26 years as a Machenist at Harrison Engine Service in LaPorte. He was a member of the Kingsford Union Vol. Fire Dept. for 15 years and a baseball coach for Kingsford Heights Ball Club. He was also a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader in Kingsford Heights.
He loved to play quiatar, sing and write songs. He made wooden wishing and card boxes and loved his niece Patricia's Chocolate Pie. He also loved NASCAR and going to local tracks such as South Bend Motor Speedway, Plymouth Speedway and New Paris. He liked to following the NASCAR drivers, David Stremme and Tony Raines; local drivers, Frankie Lile, Bobby, Lou and Cindy Stremme. Cory and Chad Lindsey, Dave Mannia, Rich Segvich and Austin Woodcox. He was known as Stan the man! And dad & grandpa to many!
Stanley was married on September 8, 1973 in Michigan City, IN to Laurie J. Charlson who survives. Also surviving are his son: Scott E. (Angela) Kreighbaum of Kingsford Heights; daughter: Crystal G. (Kevin) Rosenbaum of LaPorte; sisters: Susan (Wayne) Freeman of Portage, Kathy (Bryan) Brownlee of Michigan City; brothers: Micheal (Linda) Kreigbaum of Fish Lake, John Kreighbaum of Michigan City; grandchildren: Dylan, Brandon & Sarah Kreighbaum of Kingsford Heights and Kaley Rosenbaum of LaPorte.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service at Cutler Funeral Home on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. with Rev. Jack Andrews officiating.
A time of visitation will be held on Thursday from 2:00 -7:00 P.M. (C.S.T.) at Cutler Funeral Home in LaPorte, IN.
