Steve Allen Gray

Steve Allen Gray, 67, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023 at Northwest Health - La Porte.

He was born on July 7, 1955 in Fort Payne, AL, to Charles and Mary Jane (Hale) Gray.

Steve is survived by his adored, prized wife of just under 22 years, Pamela S. Gray; children, Daniel (Shauna) Bealor of La Porte, CJ (Stephani) Bealor of La Porte, Allen Gray of Mentone, AL, and Katie (Patrick) Smith of Mentone, AL: brothers, Larry (Kathy) Gray and Gary (Pat) Gray, also of Mentone, AL; sister-in-law, Patti Brenda of La Porte; brother-in-law, Mike (Juanita) Hanna of La Porte; in-laws, whom he loved immensely and thought the world of, Charles (Phyllis) Hanna of La Porte; and grandchildren, his most prized possessions, Xane, Kiaya, Elora, Lyla, and Jasper Bealor.

He was preceded in death by his parents and dog, Bailey.

Steve was in the United States Army from 1976 until his honorable discharge in 1982.  He served his country proudly.

He enjoyed doing many things throughout his life, including woodworking, camping, fishing, and reloading.  Steve's most enjoyable times were spent with his wife, Pam.  He would often comment that it didn't matter what they did, as long as they were together.  Steve was also very fond of his time with his children and grandchildren, who called him Papa.

Steve was a very skilled carpenter and demonstrated that skill in his construction work.

He will be sweetly remembered for being the type of person who never knew a stranger and always had a kind word for everyone.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 23, 2023 at First Church of God, La Porte.  Steve's visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the church.
