Susan E. Stone, 34, of La Porte, passed away from a rare kidney disease on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Franciscan Communities in Michigan City.
Susan was born in La Porte, IN, on April 23, 1983. She was born to Michael David Stone and Wanda Gail (Hammonds) Stone Burkhart.
Susan enjoyed her family and friends. She had a child-like spirit which made it easy for her to be the best aunt and second mother for her 12 nieces and nephews. Her laughter was contagious and she will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Gail Hammonds and Mary Stone; and her father, Michael Stone.
Surviving are her mother and step-father, Wanda (Chuck) Burkhart; step-mother, Diana Stone; grandparents, Herman and Debi Hammonds; brothers, David (Melissa) Stone, Joshua Stone, and Curtis (Shannon) Reutebuch; sisters, Kristina Yacconi and Michelle (Rick) McVay; special sister, Lori Binversie; nieces and nephews, Shane Kodie, Brittoni, Alexandria Stone, Lilly Stone, Mathew Stone, William Stone, Jade Yacconi, Jina Yacconi, Malin Yacconi, Anya Wyse, Melanie and Kaitlynn Reutebuch.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 AM (CST) on Monday, July 17, 2017 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
A time of visitation will be held from 9 AM until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Salem Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, Susan loved stuffed animals and asked if people could bring a stuffed animal to be donated in her memory.
