Tammi Lynn Alt, 39, of La Porte, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Franciscan Health Michigan City.
Tammi was born in La Porte, IN, on May 26, 1978 to Peter and Joann "Jo" (Wordelman) Ludwig.
On September 26, 2015 in Michigan City, IN, she married Steven L. Alt who survives. Also surviving are her beloved son, Justin King; 2 stepsons, Erich (Mandi) Alt of Michigan City and Ethan Alt of Chapel Hill, NC; 2 granddaughters, Alaina and Ava Alt; mother, Jo Ludwig of La Porte; brother, Peter D. (Tabitha) Ludwig of La Porte; sister, Lisa Jo Tarnow of La Porte; and 3 nephews, Paul Ludwig, Daniel and Dwight Tarnow. She was preceded in death by her father.
Tammi was a Superior 4 Court Clerk in La Porte County for 11 years. She enjoyed reading and animals seemed to love her. She was a diehard Cubs fan, but especially loved to watch her son, Justin, play baseball. Tammi's faith was important to her.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 4:30 pm (CST) on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at St. John's United Church of Christ, 101 St. John Road, Michigan City. Pastor Paul Richardson and Chaplain Alan Harvey will be officiating.
A time of visitation will be held from 12:30 - 4:30 pm (CST) on Thursday at the church.
