Victor Milewski, 86, of Union Mills, Indiana and formerly of Chicago, passed away at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at LaPorte Hospital.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 30, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Ian Williams officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at Cutler Funeral Home. Burial will be in Union Mills Cemetery.
Victor was born July 7, 1920 in Poland to the late Alexander & Teoflia (Matyszczyk) Milewski. On August 16, 1941, in Chicago, he married Frances Schable who survives.
Survivors also include son Vic (Mary) Milewski of Boynton Beach, FL; daughter Marilyn (Ed) Wisniewski of Oak Forest, IL; and grandchildren Joe & Laura Wisniewski. A son, Garry, preceded him in death.
Victor had retired from Modine Manufacturing in LaPorte. He was a WW II Army veteran, during which time he was taken as a POW. He received the Purple Heart, Silver Star and bronze stars.
He was also a member of the PRCU, PNA and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
