Violet Mae Manino, 88, of La Porte, IN, passed away on December 13, 2024, at Rittenhouse Senior Living.
Violet was born on December 9, 1936 in Yawkey, WV, to Zelva (Brown) and Troy Adkins.
On October 3, 1959 in Chicago, IL, she married Louis Manino, who preceded her in death. Surviving Violet are her 2 children, Nancy Hill of La Porte and Anthony Manino of Las Vegas, NV; 3 grandchildren, Louis (Erica), Paula (Ivan), and Nick; 5 great-grandchildren, Cianna, Avah, Luciano, Esme, and Aspen; sister, Virigina Miller or Carpentersville, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis; 3 sisters, Reva, Delphine, and Dora; and 2 brothers, Kenny and Ronnie.
Violet worked many years as a housekeeper for W. W. Grainger in Chicago. She enjoyed planting and tending to her flowers, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Nate Edquist officiating. Entombment will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City.
A time of visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
