Virginia Ward, 82 of LaPorte, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, May 5.
Virginia was born July 27, 1929 in Richmond, IN to Raymond and Bertha (White) Buckels who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death is her husband Roger Ward, long-time companion Richard Sims and four siblings Ed (Marilyn) Buckels, Jim (Elaine) Buckels, Juanita (Jack) McCaw, Howard Buckels, and grandson Matthew Ward.
Surviving are five children, Peggy Fetzer (Mike Gorman) of Syracuse, NY, Bill Ward (Theresa Davidson) of LaPorte, Patti Dotson (Don) of LaPorte, Sandi Keller (Ron Ebeling) of LaPorte and Tim Ward (Michele Bush) of Battle Creek, MI; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sixteen nieces and nephews and numerous others that she considered her children.
Virginia lived for her family and showered them with a steady, unconditional love. She valued simplicity and strong family bonds above all else. Virginia enjoyed reading, playing gin rummy, piecing together puzzles, and spoiling her cats. She loved music and had a lovely singing voice.
A time of visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Service and also on Thursday from 9-10:30 AM at the Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at The Presbyterian Church of LaPorte, 307 Kingsbury Avenue with Rev. Sally Wicks officiating. Cremation and burial at Pine Lake Cemetery will take place in a private service at a later date.
Virginia loved flowers but if preferred, memorials can be made to the organization of your choice.
