Vivian "Paulette" Manns, of LaPorte passed away at IU Health LaPorte Hospital on Friday, May 10, 2013 at the age of 69. She born in Valparaiso, IN on February 5, 1944 the daughter of the late Geordia Jr & Vivian (Wise) Johnson. On August 27, 1988 she married Adam J. Manns; he survives.
Along with her husband she is survived by two children, Mike Maynard & Kim Maynard-Fox both of La Porte; four step children: Melissa Keating of Joliet, IL, Tony (Julie) Manns and Mark Manns both of Knox, IN & Jennifer (Tom) Tautiris of Goshen; eleven grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Daniels of Michigan City and Susan Sowers of Florida; two brothers, Geordia Johnson III of North Carolina and Terry Johnson Sr. of La Porte; six step-brothers, John, Paul, Sam, Bob, George, and Tom; seven step-sisters, Janet, Helen, Betty, Kathy, Mary, Debbie, and Sandy; two half brothers Jim & Geordia IV; three half sisters, Carrie, Peggy, and Jody.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Geneva Merry; and a step-brother Charles.
Paulette attended Chesterton High School from 1960-63 and graduated from La Porte High School in 1974. She graduated from Commonwealth Business College in 1991. Paulette was a member of First United Methodist Church in La Porte & worked for Mary Kay for many years.
A celebration of Life service will be held at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center on Wednesday May 15, 2013 at 11 AM. Rev. Evan Lash will officiate.
A graveside service will be held at 2PM on Wednesday afternoon at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso, IN.
Family and friends will be received from 4-8 PM at the funeral home on Tuesday May 14, 2013 and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
