Walter Duane Knowlton

October 22, 1934 — February 26, 2004

Walter Duane Knowlton, 69, Rolling Prairie, died of natural causes at 2:34 a.m. Thursday (Feb. 26, 2004) at LaPorte Hospital.

A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at Westlawn Cemetery, North Liberty, Ind., with the Rev. Kathy Evans officiating.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Cutler Funeral Home, LaPorte.

He was born Oct. 22, 1934, in Walkerton, Ind., to George and Irene J. (Norlie) Knowlton. On June 26, 1976, he married Yvonne Bonnie Ullery, who survives.

Survivors also include one stepdaughter, Sharon (Terry) Jertberg, Gainesville, Fla.; five stepsons, Ron (Barbara) Bussie, Fish Lake, Douglas Bussie, Westville, Greg (Karen) Brooks, Long Beach, Calif., David Brooks, Huntington Beach, Calif., and Michael Brewster, Bass Lake, Ind.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Mr. Knowlton in death were four brothers and two sisters.

Mr. Knowlton had retired as a finisher at the Hoosier Spring Co. in South Bend. He was a member of the Covenant Church of God, Rolling Prairie.
